2008

Dr. Puneet Sinha obtained his PhD degree (Mechanical Engineering) on pore-level modeling and experimentation of liquid water transport and now works at General Motors, Fuel Cell Activities.


2007

Dr. Xinhuai Ye completed his post-doc residence at ECEC, and now works at Spectrum Brands.

Dr. Jun Li completed his post-doc residence at ECEC, and now works at AVL.

Dr. Partha Mukherjee obtained his PhD degree on pore-level modeling of PEM fuel cell catalyst layers and he received a prestigious Director’s Postdoctoral Fellowship from Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Dr. Hyunchul Ju obtained his PhD degree (Mechanical Engineering) on coupled water and thermal management in fuel cells and now works as a tenure-track assistant professor at Chungju National University, South Korea.


2006

Dr. Kandler Smith obtained his PhD degree (Mechanical Engineering) on electrochemical modeling, control and estimation of high power Li-ion batteries and now works as a staff scientist at National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).

Dr. Guoqiang Lu completed his 3-year post-doc residence at ECEC, and now works at MTI Microfuel Cells.

Dr. Fuqiang Liu obtained his PhD degree (Materials Science and Engineering) on membrane-electrode assembly of direct methanol fuel cells and now works as a senior materials scientist at United Technologies Research Center (UTRC).

Dr. Yun Wang obtained his PhD degree (Mechanical Engineering) on transients of polymer electrolyte fuel cells and now works as a tenure-track assistant professor of mechanical and aerospace engineering at University of California – Irvine.

Dr. Leng Mao obtained his PhD degree (Mechanical Engineering) on fuel cell cold start and now works as a research scientist at PlugPower Inc.


2005

Dr. Xiao-Guang Yang completed his 3-year post-doc residence at ECEC, and now works at Ford Motor Co.

Ugur Pasaogullari obtained his PhD degree on modeling of polymer electrolyte fuel cells and now works as an assistant professor of mechanical engineering at University of Connecticut.

Wenpeng Liu obtained his PhD degree on modeling of direct methanol fuel cells and now works at MTI MicroFuel Cells with Dr. Shimshon Gottesfeld.


2004

Andrea Lubawy obtained her M.S. degree on experimental studies of polymer electrolyte fuel cells, and she now works for Toyota at California Fuel Cell Partnership, Sacremento.

Nick Burke obtained his M.S. degree on polymer electrolyte fuel cells, and he now works at International Truck and Engine Corporation in Chicago.

Krishan Bhatia obtained his PhD degree on impurity effects on polymer electrolyte fuel cells in August 2004 and now works as an assistant professor of mechanical engineering at Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey.

Yinghui Pan obtained his PhD degree on direct methanol fuel cells in December 2004 and now works as a research associate in Professor D.D. Macdonald's group, Penn State University.


Summer 2003

Jeff Gonder obtained his MS degree on direct methanol fuel cells, and now works for Anuvu in Sacramento.


Spring 2003

Sukkee Um and Guoqing Wang received their PhD degrees in May 2003.
Sukkee now works at Hyundai Motor Co., and Guoqing works for PlugPower


Fall 2002

Dr. Chan Lim completed his post-doc residence at ECEC in Fall 2002 and now works at Dymos Inc. in South Korea.

Dr. Matt Mench completed his post-doc residence at ECEC in Summer 2002 and now works as assistant professor of mechanical engineering at Penn State.


Spring 2002

Russ Owens completed his MS work on overcharge behavior of valve-regulated lead-acid batteries and now works for Antares Group Inc. in Washington DC.

Oliver Finckh obtained his MS degree on H2 PEM fuel cells and current distribution measurements, and now works for UTC.

Dr. Zhao-Hui Wang recently completed his three year post-doc residence at ECEC and now works for FuelCell Energy.

Dr. Venkat Srinivasan recently completed his two year post-doc residence at ECEC and now works University of California at Berkeley.


Spring 2001

Steve Boslet recently completed his M.S. work on direct methanol fuel cells and now works for works for Northrop Grumman

Jim completed his M.S. work on experimental study of H2 PEM fuel cells in August 2001 and now works for H-Power.


Fall 2000

Juwen Gao (to left)   and Wenbin Gu (to right) received thier Ph.D. degrees in Fall, 2000.  Dr. Gu has accepted a job at General Motors  in Fuel Cell systems design and operation, and Dr. Gao now works for Novellus  as a process engineer.


Spring 2000

Brandon Thomas  and Rebecca Cullion became the first two alumni of the ECEC in May, 2000.  Brandon completed his M.S. Thesis work on In-Vehicle Testing and Computer Modeling of Electric Vehicle Batteries, and now works for Daimler Chrysler Rebecca finished her M.S. Thesis on Computational Fluid Dynamic Modeling of Nickel Hydrogen Batteries and now works for Agilent Technologies
